This Privacy Policy explains how Cortex Labs ("Cortex Clips," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the website at https://cortexclips.online and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.
Account information. When you sign up or log in, we collect your name, email address, and profile picture if you sign in with Google, or the email and password credentials you provide. Passwords are stored in hashed form.
Content you provide. Videos you upload or link to, the clips we generate from them, captions, transcripts, and your editing choices (caption styles, clip length, format, language, and similar settings).
Publishing and scheduling data. If you connect a third-party account (such as YouTube), we store the authorization tokens needed to publish on your behalf, plus your scheduling choices and the status of posts you create.
Payment information. Payments are processed by a third-party payment processor. We do not store full card numbers. We receive limited billing details such as plan, status, and the last four digits of a card.
Usage and device data. IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, and actions taken in the Service, collected through logs and cookies.
If you choose to sign in with Google or connect your Google/YouTube account, we request only the permissions (scopes) needed for the features you use:
We use Google user data only to provide and improve the user-facing features you request in the Service. We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or transfer it to others except as needed to provide the Service, comply with law, or with your consent.
Limited Use disclosure. Cortex Clips's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not allow humans to read your Google user data unless we have your affirmative consent for specific content, it is necessary for security purposes or to comply with law, or the data has been aggregated and anonymized for internal operations.
If you connect YouTube, your use is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. You can revoke our access at any time at https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions.
We do not use your uploaded videos or generated clips to train AI models for others.
To deliver the Service we use trusted service providers, such as cloud hosting and storage, video processing, speech-to-text and AI model providers, payment processing, and analytics. These providers process data only on our behalf and under contractual obligations to protect it.
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:
Uploaded videos and generated clips are kept for 30 days after processing unless you delete them sooner or save them to a project (in which case they remain until you delete them or close your account). Account information is kept while your account is active. Authorization tokens for connected accounts are deleted when you disconnect the account or delete your account. We may retain limited records as required for legal, tax, security, or dispute-resolution purposes.
Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA, UK, or California), you may have additional rights, including to object to or restrict processing, data portability, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. We will respond to verified requests as required by applicable law.
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including encryption in transit and access controls, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where applicable law requires), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live, including the United States. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and change the "Last updated" date. If changes are material, we will notify you by email or in the Service.
